So instead of having a never ending debate with myself, I chose to put pencil to paper. I did some simplified drawings in my sketchbook of the rockets and how the rusted metal curls out after the explosion. It is a very emotional subject matter for me and feel like the only way to release it is to work it out on paper. After I did a few little drawings, I noticed that I can focus on the line work, dynamism and overall design rather than the political aspect. Although no matter what I choose, I understand that these drawing will without a doubt have personal and political meaning because of the subject.
